High Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR) from Köppern use the principle of wet grinding, in which material is crushed between two counter-rotating rolls under high pressure. This efficient technology not only significantly reduces energy consumption, but also improves the material properties of the HPGR product. The result: finer grain distributions and improved pulverization provide significant advantages for subsequent processes with increased yield.

Our HPGR crushes a mixture of fresh and recycled material under high pressure into fine powders. Köppern offers various HPGR types with throughputs ranging from 1 to 5000 t/h. Our machines are characterized by maximum efficiency, durability, and availability and are equipped with innovative features such as a skew control system, innovative material distributor, customized wear protection solution, online wear monitoring, and controlled real-time monitoring system. This enables us to guarantee consistent product quality and reliable throughput – even with demanding materials.

The KoeSep classifier separates the material into product and grit. Our patented 2-stage KoeSep classifier is specially designed for operation with HPGR and can be used for both final grinding and partial final grinding of cement products. The KoeSep stands for maximum separation efficiency, variable product fineness, and throughputs with approximately 40% less installation space compared to conventional separators.
The ball mill is used in partial grinding circuits for the ultra-fine grinding of the product.
